Assessors approve routine warrants amid assessment concerns

Southwick Assessors board approves routine warrants and abatements. Vice Chairman Dean J. Horacek and Clerk William Brown, with Director of Assessment Randall Austin, unanimously approved meeting minutes, an abatement report, invoices, three warrants and commitments including a sewer betterment for 21 Feeding Hills Road, and all statutory obligations.

Two residents raised concerns about assessment-to-sale ratios falling below state standards; their comments were taken under advisement. Austin recommended hiring an outside vendor for Personal Property assessments and will obtain quotes.
