Board of Assessors hears three concerns on property valuations

Board of Assessors · Meeting of January 28, 2026

Southwick Board of Assessors takes three valuation concerns under advisement. The Board heard public comments from Lace Twins LLC, owner of Lake Shore Drive cottages, seeking a reduction in a substantially increased assessment; Linda Hadley of 16 George Loomis, raising affordability concerns after Director of Assessment Randall Austin re-evaluated her property; and Beth Lalli of 352 North Loomis, challenging the accuracy of property-card criteria. All three matters were taken under advisement.

The Board also approved fourteen routine administrative items, including monthly reports, professional-service invoices, and property documents related to Chapter 61A transactions and sewer betterments.
