Southwick advances open space plan revision with consulting firm. The Open Space Land Management Committee approved $2,750 in grant funding for fiscal 2026 ($2,475 from the Land Conservation Assistance Grant, $275 from the town) to hire Pioneer Valley Planning Commission, led by Derek Strahan, to revise the town's Open Space and Recreation Plan. The revision targets March 2027 completion with a seven-member Open Space and Recreation Planning Committee overseeing the work; Jennifer DiPietro was formally approved as the resident representative.
The current plan expires December 31, 2026, creating a three-month gap before the revised plan takes effect.
