Conservation Commission OKs tree removal, adds associate member

SOUTHWICK — The Southwick Conservation Commission approved removal of a tree within the buffer zone of Lake Congamond and advanced changes to two residential projects. The Commission voted unanimously to allow Rachel Sutherland-Gay of 16 Grandview Street to remove a tree 75 feet from the lake bank, noting that a branch had fallen on her dock and suggesting replanting in its place. The board unanimously approved minor changes at 662A College Highway with Mike Clegg designated as primary erosion control monitor, and unanimously approved a conservation restriction for Noble Steed Crossing.
The Commission also unanimously approved Robert Garvey as its first associate member and continued a Notice of Intent for a three-home project at 6 South Loomis Street to March 2.
