Finance Committee approves warrant articles for town meeting, splits on school budget

SOUTHWICK — Finance Committee backs 14 warrant articles with school budget dissent. Chairman Joseph Deedy and the Finance Committee unanimously approved discussion of the Pros and Cons for 14 warrant articles at their May 6 meeting held at Town Hall, including fire apparatus acquisition, tax incremental financing, senior property tax exemptions, and departmental revolving fund authorizations. The committee unanimously recommended nine articles to town meeting voters.
Finance Committee member Karen Demaio cast the sole dissent on Article 10, the Regional School District Annual Budget, in a 6-1 recommendation vote.
