Lake Management Committee approves water quality plan letter to MassDEP.

SOUTHWICK — Lake Management Committee authorizes submission of watershed plan letter to MassDEP. Chair Dick Grannells and Vice-Chair Eric Mueller were directed to finalize and submit by May 29, 2026, a Nine-Element Watershed-Based Plan letter to CEI Engineering expressing interest in funding from S-319 grants and other sources. The committee approved minutes unanimously and reviewed ongoing dock compliance issues at 129 North Lake Avenue, where permanent structures exceed Chapter 91 allowances.

Members also directed an on-site inspection at 159 Berkshire Avenue following reports of unauthorized sand mining and authorized removal of a truck sunk in Middle Pond for May 18, 2026.
