SOUTHWICK — Lake Management Committee approves year-three eDNA survey under $250,000 grant. Chair Dick Grannells' committee voted unanimously to accept a Stantec proposal for the lake eDNA survey, part of the USACE/DCR Hydrilla Grant Project, and issued a purchase order to begin work. A 2026 Solitude invasives assessment detected no hydrilla and minimal curly-leaf pondweed and milfoil, with no treatment warranted at present; a follow-up survey is planned for late June or early July.
The committee also discussed navigation buoy maintenance, needing approximately 60 bricks to complete weight installations, and addressed boating regulation violations including nighttime speeding and operation without lights.
