Library Board approves policy updates, hires part-time assistant.

Library Board of Trustees · Meeting of February 10, 2026

Southwick Public Library Board unanimously adopts two policy updates and backs funding for new position. Library Director Lynn Blair reported 34 programs served 373 participants in December and January, with January use statistics rising year-over-year despite daily borrowing limits on the Hoopla platform imposed to manage costs. The FY 2027 budget submission requests a 4 percent salary increase for Assistant Librarian Heather Dunfee and a part-time programming and publicity assistant at $17.50 per hour; trustees verbalized support.

A 19 percent Municipal Appropriations Requirement prevented a requested 5 percent operational decrease that would have forfeited state aid.
