Southwick's Open Space Land Management Committee approved March meeting minutes and addressed maintenance at Sofinowski Preserve and Woodland Ridge properties. Chair Conner Fleury reported that Committee Member Martha Kane will replace two damaged bird boxes at Sofinowski by week's end, and the committee plans spring cleanup of invasive vines engulfing boxes and picnic tables. At Woodland Ridge, Fleury and Vice Chair Phil Price will install tarps to control poison ivy spreading onto the nature trail in April.
Meanwhile, Phil Price continues refining the public survey for the Open Space and Recreation Plan update using Google Forms, and Martha Kane works with Chief Administrative Officer Nicole Parker on a Land Conservation Assistance Grant covering 90 percent of Pioneer Valley Planning Commission costs, with results expected by late April.
