Open Space Panel Continues Plan Revision, Tackles Spring Projects

Southwick Open Space Management and Planning Committee approves prior minutes and rejects two-committee model for plan revision. Chair Conner Fleury, Vice Chair Phil Price, and Clerk Martha Kane voted unanimously to keep plan revision within the committee while managing town open space properties, despite a Select Board preference to split the work. The group outlined five springtime projects including erosion-control work at North Pond Conservation Area, poison ivy removal and fence assessment at Woodland Ridge, and nest box removal at Sofinowski Preserve.
The Conservation Commission will make a final determination on the committee's scope at its February 2 meeting.
