Park commission re-elects DeiDolori as chair with shared duties

Park and Recreation Commission · Meeting of July 9, 2026

SOUTHWICK — The Southwick Park and Recreation Commission re-elects David DeiDolori as chair while distributing responsibilities. The five-member board reassigned liaison duties to address workload concerns, with Laura Sylvia taking Whalley Park oversight and beach operations support. Commissioners reviewed the pickleball court project and scheduled a construction kickoff with Levesque Associates for July 10.

The beach continues to struggle with certified-lifeguard shortages, including one day-long closure due to insufficient coverage, prompting the Commission to discuss beginning seasonal hiring much earlier in future years.
