Southwick EDC Votes to Explore Social Media Firm, Seeks Budget Increase
Other Committee · Meeting of January 21, 2026
Southwick Economic Development Commission voted to explore hiring a social media firm and discussed requesting a fiscal year 2027 budget of up to $4,500. The commission voted unanimously to have member Serena Fuller contact Little Dog Social Media, a Cumberland, Maryland firm, for a quote on weekly Facebook and Instagram posts branded as Enjoy Southwick, with monitoring included, estimated at roughly $80 per month. The current regular budget holds $1,665, with an additional $1,483 in a gift account.
Commission Chair Greg Diley said the $4,000 to $4,500 request, more than double the current $1,900 annual appropriation, would also cover a larger Southwick and Bloom event and a small business forum called for in the master plan. Amanda Waterfield, Executive Director of the Greater Westfield Chamber of Commerce, appeared before the commission to discuss a potential joint printed destination map and co-op advertising opportunities, noting the chamber counts roughly a dozen Southwick businesses among its 256 members.
