Southwick Library Board approves no-show policy, tables museum pass access dispute. The Board of Trustees voted unanimously at its February 10 meeting to adopt a new program attendance policy under which patrons who skip registered events twice in four months without canceling will be placed on wait lists for the following four months. The board also replaced a 1989 children's access policy with the current American Library Association version.

A proposed museum pass policy that would restrict some passes to Friends of the Southwick Library members was tabled after Trustee Andrea raised concerns that limiting library resources to dues-paying members conflicts with the library's free-access mission, while Trustee Michael McCann noted that exclusive benefits are central to Friends membership recruitment. The library director separately warned that the electricity budget line is underfunded mid-year due to rising Eversource rates, and that neither a level-funded nor a 5 percent reduced budget scenario would meet the state's 19 percent informational-materials spending requirement needed to preserve state aid.
