Southwick's Economic Development Commission elected Serena Fuller as chair, ending Greg Dialer's two-year run, with Julie Bichny named vice chair and Dialer taking over as clerk. All officer votes and approval of June meeting minutes were unanimous among the three members present. Dialer reported walking a proposed rail trail connector route near Christ Lutheran Church with DPW Director Rich Bosak and Assistant Director John Goddard, targeting up to $1 million through the state's Complete Streets grant program, with an application window running November 2026 through January 2027.
Members also discussed drafting a formal tax-increment-financing policy, noting roughly 93 percent of the town's tax revenue currently comes from residential property. Guest Nicole Parker, the town's CAO, pitched a recurring "coffee with" business outreach event modeled on a Westfield Chamber of Commerce program, telling members "it was coffee with a cop and me" in a prior town.
