Lake Management Committee maintains work freeze on Berkshire Avenue

Lake Management Committee · Meeting of July 9, 2026

Southwick lake panel upholds work freeze on eroding property. The Lake Management Committee voted unanimously to maintain its requirement for a Stop Work Order at 159 Berkshire Ave until a detailed erosion control plan is approved by the Department of Public Works, Conservation Commission, or Code Enforcement, following a motion by Malcolm DeBay. The committee also voted unanimously to send an email to town agencies encouraging use of 6- to 8-foot helical anchors for handicap ramps at 157 Feeding Hills Road.

The committee confirmed that invasive hydrilla was identified in Congamond Lake, with a full survey completed on July 9 and detailed results pending.
