Southwick Planning Board approves signage swaps for a new bank branch and a cannabis dispensary, continues two hearings. Town Planner Alvin Allen presented plans from ProSign Service's Jason Perillo to replace Berkshire Bank signage at 608 College Highway with Beacon Bank signage, cutting the front sign from 22 to 13.8 square feet; the board approved it unanimously. Representatives John Lemanski and Roni Glodzik won unanimous approval for Haven Cannabis signage at 681 College Highway after agreeing to add "cannabis" to the wording, with Allen noting state rules "prohibit them from having products or brand names being visible to the exterior." The board also accepted William Frazier's withdrawal of an auto parts retail application at 526 College Highway and continued hearings on 6 South Loomis Street and Grape's Tea House to January 20.
A planning board-sponsored moratorium on large-scale solar and battery storage is headed to the coming special town meeting.
