Planning Board OKs Hudson Drive aircraft-parts plant
Planning Board · Meeting of September 22, 2026
Southwick Planning Board approves 59,335-square-foot aircraft-parts plant on Hudson Drive. The board, chaired by Jessica Thornton with Vice Chair Dave Spina, granted a special permit, site plan approval, wellhead protection permit and stormwater permit for the building, owned by RRJ Commerce LLC, with a 20-day appeal window. Members also voted 5-0 to extend Crepes Tea House's outdoor "Gazebo 1" dining season to November 15 after owner Arthur Stubinskis described months of delay over an engineered handicap ramp and a roughly $5,000 phishing attempt targeting his permit fees; a neighbor complained of late-night noise and an outdoor cooler "running all night long." Fire and health inspectors cleared the restaurant of burning pressure-treated wood after a resident's complaint.
A wetlands-review snag flagged by the conservation commission coordinator pushed the Pioneer Valley Trading Company marijuana facility hearing to October 6, alongside a board vote to seek Select Board permission for new data-center and solar/battery-storage bylaw hearings.
