Southwick Council on Aging floats matinee theater plan after recording 128-person class week. The board met for roughly 14 minutes Monday and approved its January minutes 6-0, with most discussion driven by senior center staff member Lisa, who proposed converting the center's large room into a part-time movie theater on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays between 12:30 and 2 p.m. Lisa said the room's 2014 television needs replacing regardless and that grant money could cover recliner chairs, a new smart TV, and a streaming subscription.

She reported 128 people attended center classes in a single week, the highest count on record, with Chair Yoga so popular that extra chairs had to be retrieved from downstairs. Yoga instructor Suzanne Gravel is set to begin a new class in March, and a Valentine's Day luncheon with a music-and-storytelling performer is scheduled for this Thursday.
