Board tables CAO contract revote over recusal
Select Board · Meeting of September 28, 2026
Southwick Select Board tables a revote on its Chief Administrative Officer's contract after a recusal dispute. A board member said the state Ethics Commission barred them from the CAO's evaluation discussion, and though town counsel confirmed an earlier vote on the one-year extension stood, the board tabled a revote "until we've all had a chance to talk to council." Separately, the board voted 3-0 to allocate $213,018 to finish the Gargon Terrace Pavement Reconstruction Project, raised FY27 contractor snowplowing rates by $10 an hour after fuel costs rose "$1.50 to almost $2.60" a gallon, and set a new $200 fee for liquor license amendments. The board also designated six police sergeants, including Tom Krutka and Brad Fisk II, as liquor license investigative agents under Chapter 138, and approved a one-day license for the Senior Center's "Ladies Night Out" event.
