Southwick Open Space Land Management Committee advances state grant application for park plan revision. Committee Clerk Martha Kane reported that the Select Board approved a Land Conservation Assistance Grant application on March 9, with Pioneer Valley Planning Commission providing OSRP revision services at $25,000 and the town matching $2,500 from general funds. Vice Chair Phil Price recalculated survey statistics from the 2018 public survey for the 2019 OSRP, identifying calculation errors and providing corrected data for future comparisons.
The committee also drafted revisions to its permanent charter, emphasizing land stewardship and clarifying its reporting structure to the Conservation Commission.
