Southwick Cultural Council asks town to restore funding to $2,500 after a records mix-up. Town Administrator Nicole flagged what appeared to be unspent grant allocations in past years; members explained the gap reflects grant billing that lands after the fiscal year closes, not unused money. The council had submitted a level-funded $2,375 request before amending it to $2,500, the amount it received before an earlier cut.
No budget hearings have been scheduled yet. Separately, the council set a March 2 deadline for artists to submit work for its annual community art show, with volunteer Pauline stuffing roughly 250 mailed invitations, and members previewed the town's January 26 Select Board meeting on 250th-anniversary event planning. "We're rolling in dough," one member joked during the treasurer's report, which showed an unconfirmed $8,800 state deposit pending.
